Biography

David and Tristian Taylor are a husband-and-wife BBQ competition duo proudly competing on the Memphis Barbecue Network trail alongside their children, turning every weekend contest into a family adventure filled with smoke, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

What began as a shared passion for barbecue quickly grew into a competitive family tradition. From firing up the smokers before sunrise to hearing awards called on Saturday evenings, the Taylors have built their lives around the BBQ community they love. Their cook site is known not only for great barbecue, but for the welcoming atmosphere, strong family values, and the energy they bring to every competition.

Traveling from event to event with their kids, the entire family plays a role in the process. Whether helping with prep, cheering during turn-ins, or keeping spirits high during long cook nights, their children are a big part of what makes the team special.

At the center of the team’s heart is 4-year-old Lilly — lovingly known as the “weekend smile bringer.” With her big personality, endless energy, and contagious smile, Lilly lights up every cook site she visits. From dancing around the smokers to making new friends across the competition circuit, she has become a familiar and cherished face among fellow BBQ teams. No matter how stressful competition weekends become, Lilly always finds a way to bring smiles, laughter, and joy to everyone around her.

For David and Tristian, barbecue is about more than trophies and finals — it’s about family, tradition, friendship, and creating lifelong memories together one competition weekend at a time.
