My name is Devin, and I’m a father to a lovely daughter and husband to an amazing wife. I am the GM of American Fire BBQ & Grilling Supply.

I started Fluffy Butt BBQ in January 2022. The name comes from a nickname my wife and I gave our miniature schnauzer, Tux, when his fur gets long and fluffy. I got started in competition BBQ when my dad suggested that I compete in the KCBS Backyard Series American Royal. My childhood friend Carl joined to help me. This was our first BBQ competition, and we finished first in chicken and fifth overall.

I have always been a competitive person, whether playing football, baseball, or board games. That made it an easy transition from cooking for fun to cooking for competition. I compete on a Gateway Drum Smoker. The drum smoker was easier to travel with and multiple top teams/world champions win using drum smokers. Our team was fortunate enough to do very well in our first year of competing.
