We’re JP and Colleen. Pitmaster JP grew up in Prince Frederick, Maryland, and is a US Army veteran. Colleen is a native of Hershey, Pennsylvania, and a former Peace Corps volunteer. We currently live in Wilmington, North Carolina, and love to listen to live music, travel, and BBQ.
First introduced to competition BBQ in 2010, we soon became certified BBQ judges. In May 2022 we started competing at the West Virginia BBQ Throwdown in Ripley and were hooked. You’ll find us on the Mid-Atlantic BBQ Association and Alabama Barbecue Association circuits.
With over 20 contests on the schedule, we’re off to a great start in the 2023 season with two first place calls and a Grand Championship! You’ll know we’re in town when you hear JP’s “Bar-B-QQQQQQQQQQQ!!!!” squeal at the competition!
